Fly Fishing with Adventures Across Oregon & H&H Outfitters
Cruised down the coast yesterday and spent the day with Adventures Across Oregon and H&H Outfitters. They put together a free beginning fly fishing class on the Wilson River for people looking to learn a little about the craft. And even though it's early March on the Oregon coast, it started chilly, but warmed up strangely like a perfect summer day. Tasty food was provided by River Pig Saloon and waders and boots by Patagonia Fly Fishing.
Had a great time and met some damn good people. Adventures Across Oregon is a fly fishing and multi sport adventure guiding company that puts together trips all over Oregon - including fly fishing for big bows in Crater Lake. Wait what?. H&H Outfitters is making some of my favorite fishing apparel and logos out there right now. Designed and made in house, to order, here in Oregon. Definitely check them out and pick up some of their dank gear. Maybe not too much though...we don't want them to get too big, too fast. Gonna happen, but there's just something about smallish companies before they get too big. NW Portland restaurant River Pig Saloon served up bacon wrapped hot dogs with snappy skin and real buns, slathered in guac. The goods. And of course Patagonia doesn't really need any introduction. Damn cool all these people took their time to show up and share their knowledge and equipment. Thanks y'all.
I drove down to mostly meet new friends in the fly fishing / fishy world and I didn't really have intentions of shooting many photos, but of course I couldn't help myself and pulled out the camera and snapped a few frames of the class and short road trip.
Pit stops. Got coffee? Got bait? No need to stop anywhere else. Heard a rumor they have super good burritos too. Next time.
